I’m taking a little break from the comic. I have a lot of reasons for this, some can probably be gleamed from news posts, some I just don’t feel like typing about, but regardless the site isn’t going to be updated much for a while. I might do the occasional comic here and there and I do have a nice “season finale” so to speak coming some time this month. I hope you all have a great 2012 and I hope to see you sooner than later.

The comic was nearly done when my computer crashed, long story short it’s gone and there isn’t a way to get it back. I’m hesitant to ever say something I draw is perfect, I’m not a great artist, but this was something that was exactly what I wanted it to be. There is no starting over, it can’t just be redone. I don’t know if people reading this will be able to really understand not just why I say there is no going back or starting over. It seems like the simple answer, but having this happen does something to your drive. It not only hurts to lose something you spent a lot of time on and were proud of, but you lose that focus and desire to even try again. That’s not to say I’m quitting, I’m just discouraged and forced to write a blog mere moments after it’s hard to be positive.

Anyway I will keep you posted when a comic goes up. Until then to everyone who is currently feeling let down, I’m sorry and I know exactly how you feel.

Doing things a little different this week and the start of next. I have a special comic I’m doing for Christmas and I need a bit more time to work on it. In the words of Monty Python “and now for something completely different”. This is just a quick little comic I thought up and doodled today. It made me chuckle and I hope it will make you chuckle too. The ‘real’ comic is going to be going up some time on Christmas day. There will be no Monday strip as a result. For those having trouble following along, this comic may be crude but it will be taking the role of Friday’s strip and Monday’s comic will be posted some time on Sunday, which is kind of business as usual around here anyway.

I hope everyone has a good holiday and if you aren’t celebrating any, then I suggest you make one up and go all out!

Proof you can’t keep a good guy down… well you can because I guess he still is, but anyway Adam’s story takes center stage again before the very special Christmas comic (that has nothing to do with Christmas). This was a story i really wanted to have be a part of things, but I just didn’t have time to include it in line with the others.

Ok, so I may have intended to post an old “retro” comic tonight, but I apparently deleted it. So I fully admit tonight’s offering is quickly drawn and a bit rough. Hey at least I’m up-front about it.

Also The Old Republic is not the reason for the rush job.

So The Old Republic happens this week. For some people this is going to be a really non-event, but if you are like me and a Star Wars fan, MMO fan, or Bioware fan it might mean that you are pretty anxious for what this week holds. It’s funny, my approach to ToR is very single player oriented for an MMO. I’m in no rush to be the first to see the end game, or “raiding” or whatever they will call it, I’m just eager to get in and experience the world and story. For a while it might mean the game’s social features are little more than background noise to me, but maybe not.

I’m writing this moments from bed at the end of what was a wonderful vacation to my home town. I’m tired and not totally eager to be getting back to the grind of things in the morning. So I’m going to leave the post at this. I hope you enjoy the comic and what is to come as we get to what I think will be some very good stories coming up.

The temporary conclusion of the Adam story leaves us now with a piece of wood, a missing man, and a lifetime of memories. OK, so that was over dramatic, but that’s what this was all about.  Workplace shenanigans turned up to an unreasonable level so that you can appreciate that more subtle tunes to come.

This weekend is actually an out of town vacation weekend for me. If I was a better planner that would have meant I did this and Monday’s comic early and so they wont in any way seem rushed, but that’s not the case. I hope you all have a great weekend. I’ll be back in some form in a few days and full force in a week.

This is the second to last chapter in the Adam storyline, well at least for now. Those of you wanting some sort of closure, prepare for disappointment. It’s been a lot of fun knowing each and every week what is going to be my comic for the day, but it’s also going to be nice to get back into doing whatever I want.

The game is afoot! Ok so this isn’t going to be much of a mystery and those expecting one will probably end up disappointed. That said the tale of Adam is fast approaching its end. Or what will be its temporary stopping point at least. I have a few more stories to tell though so for the time being we shall continue.

There is actually one or two comics worth of story that could have happened prior to this one, but for those not interested in the kidnapping of a retail store worker I decided to jump ahead a little so this doesn’t go one another month. I would consider doing them eventually and maybe releasing them as a bonus or something like that if there was interest.

Adam’s story reaches the apex! Really I only say that to be dramatic. Although I really do hope you are enjoying this little story based tangent. It’s fun to explore a story idea I had years ago (although far from fleshed out) and do it now. As I said I’m not labeling it as a multi-parter because I don’t know how often I will revisit it or if I may take breaks in it, but for now I’m enjoying telling the tragic tale of Adam.

I finished Saints Row the Third, been playing stupid amounts of Skyrim, and the NDA is finally up on The Old Republic so I’ll be writing something up for these games in the coming week/s.

Oh and a final thought, everyone should go see “The Muppets”, it was an awesome and very entertaining movie.
